Sundown

Sorry to say that real life (what a concept) concerns have kept me occupied this week so I have to be brief for now.

Over all I found the episode very creepy. In fact, for once I dread watching it again  -  I usually can't wait to go over the shows and watch for clues.

My Questions are: A) Where are Sawyer and Jin? I thought Jin was leading Claire into the Temple? But she seemed to come in the front door like everyone else does.  B)What was the condition of the Pool? If the water was clear maybe Dogen and Lennon aren't as dead as you might think.  C) I lost track of some of the Temple folk, so wasn't sure who was the gang outside at the end.  But I hope Kate has her guard up and her best "on the lam" antenna up and ready.

Of course, another big question is what are Jack and Hurley up to while all this is going on?  Is Jack still staring out to sea?  I did read somewhere that this season is broken up into 3 acts and that this episode was the end of Act I...if so, what a way to bring down a curtain.  Let's all run to the lobby for a shot of Scotland's finest before we return to our seats...after checking for smoke remnants, of course.

Enjoy the signs of spring that are coming...I saw sun yesterday...whoo hoo!

  1. Unlike you, I loved the episode. On the other hand, Jen & Liz at the Washington Post hated it. It’s starting to remind me of the way people feel about cilantro and coconut . . .

A few things I liked: Sayid & Nadia's unfulfilled love story. And – for something completely different – the way Sayid offed Keamy before he could do any more harm. Unlike Sayid, Keamy is truly evil. Sayid had a tendency towards violence that was cultivated by his father and the US/Iraqi militaries. But being able to kill is not necessarily a bad trait. How else did we hunt & eat woolly mammoths, way back when?

Something else I liked: The Island & Sideways worlds showed two ways that Sayid dealt with his violence & his love for Nadia. Though neither was perfect, one was far worse than the other. By not marrying Nadia, three people were unhappy, including his brother, who could have found a woman who really loved him. But his going to the dark side on the Island? Far worse.

You mentioned Jin. The one thing I found creepy about the episode was seeing Jin helpless & rescued one more time. The first was after he jumped off the boat & was found by Danielle Rousseau and friends. The second time was getting caught in Claire’s trap. Is this karmic punishment for what he did in the service of Mr. Paik? And Jin has a way of going missing - poor Sun!
